A first conversation outside an emergency
The National Quitline offers free calls to 800 350 000 on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00. People concerned about their own use and people close to them can contact it. The service provides consultation and guidance towards further care.
Before a conversation, you can note what worries you, how long it has been happening and what change you need. You do not need a prepared diagnosis or a perfect explanation. One concrete question or an account of a recent difficult situation is a useful starting point.

Find the right service
The National Monitoring Centre’s Mapa pomoci lets you search by region and type of addiction service, including counselling, treatment and aftercare. Contact your chosen service directly to check appointment availability, admission conditions, possible fees and languages offered. A translation of this guide does not guarantee foreign-language counselling on every helpline.
Linka bezpečí, 116 111, is a free, round-the-clock service for children and students under 26. Anonymous contact is available. An adult concerned about a child or another close person can also start with the National Quitline. Avoid placing unnecessary sensitive health details in a public website message.
