Start with your health problem
At an appointment, explain your symptoms, previous treatment and what you need to improve in everyday life. The doctor assesses whether medical cannabis may be appropriate. Finding your diagnosis in an online list does not create an entitlement to a prescription. SÚKL specifies indications and prescribing specialties, including general practice; narrowly defined additional conditions apply to patients under 18.
Bring a list of all medicines and supplements you use. Mention previous adverse reactions and relevant health circumstances as well.

A prescription is part of a treatment plan
The doctor determines the medicinal preparation, active-substance content, route and dose. SÚKL describes a valid electronic prescription marked for a highly addictive substance and the rules for pharmacy preparation and dispensing. Visiting a website or booking a consultation does not guarantee a prescription.
Ask about the treatment goal, the next review and whom to contact if problems occur. Request an explanation of any instructions you do not understand. Personal-possession limits do not replace healthcare rules.

Reviews and everyday activities
Treatment involves reviewing benefits and unwanted effects. Discuss changes to the preparation or dose with the prescribing doctor. SÚKL describes possible adverse effects and the need for individual monitoring.
Write down questions for your next visit: How will we assess whether treatment meets its goal? What should I do if I miss a prescribed administration? What restrictions apply to driving and work? Which other medicines or supplements should we review together? Answers should reflect your health circumstances rather than a general recommendation found online.

What to check and what a profile cannot confirm
Check reimbursement and any personal payment with your health insurer and healthcare professional. A public hospital or pharmacy profile does not confirm stock, preparation of a particular medicine or acceptance of new patients.
An openly marketed CBD product, food supplement or cosmetic is not automatically a substitute for a prescribed medicinal preparation. This overview uses SÚKL sources. It does not assess an individual treatment or promise a particular outcome.
